IT'S BEEN AWHILE, AN UPDATE & THE FUTURE OF FULLY RAW DOGS

Hi Everyone!
It's been quite a while since my last post! To say that I've been just too busy to write doesn't quite do justice to the actual reason. But let's just go with that since my level of BUSY has no words for proper description. After one year of being here on our little farm of paradise, we still don't have a fence in the yard. There are reasons for that as well, but for now let's just say, it's beyond my control right now. But there will be a fence at some point hopefully soon. Until then, a lot of my time involves walking my dogs multiple times a day for bathroom breaks and exercise.
Right now, we are all sitting out on the front porch (me and the dogs) listening to the sounds of country life. Lots of birds and bugs chirping, corn crops swaying in the wind and various farming vehicles passing by occasionally.
After living at the beach for so long sandwiched in between neighbor after neighbor, dogs everywhere, lots of beach noise and the comings and goings of vacationers, this new way of life is a bit like a breath of fresh air...literally. Don't get me wrong...it's definitely been an adjustment. I think more because I'm close to so many people that I've known my entire life, vs. being miles and miles away from them knowing in my mind that I can't see any of them unless I drive hundreds of miles. Believe it or not, I really haven't seen or visited with anyone other than my immediate family including aunts uncles, cousins etc. As far as long time friends and the like, I haven't contacted anyone, or gone to visit anyone. I'm still just soaking in the reality that I'm finally here, finally home, and no longer living at the beach and living the only life I've known for the last 13 years. So, needless to say...after saying all of that, it's an ongoing adjustment and one that I'll be working on for the time being.
The best part is that despite not having a fenced in yard, the dogs really seem to like it here much better than at the beach. It was certainly a huge adjustment for us at first without a fenced in yard. But we've made it work with a lot of walking every day. And I think they like it because we don't have to worry about some loose pit bull charging at us on the beach or on the side streets.
My VoiceOver work is going great and I'm learning so much about the craft. It doesn't feel like work because I love it so much. I actually made the short list from an audition I did for a middle grade kids fiction book about Lizzy Borden from Penguin Random House audio. I was so excited when I got the email from them letting me know that I had been considered and thanking me for my hard work in preparing for the audition. Then they ended the email by saying that they were looking forward to working with me on another project in the future! Narrating for small audiobook publishers and independent publishers is great, but the thought of having the opportunity to be cast for any of the big 5 publishers on a regular basis...is a literal dream! So crossing my fingers it happens soon!
Another fun part of my VoiceOver work, is that I've started narrating my own work. I have 21 book outlines and one published book that I will eventually narrate myself. I've already started narrating Jade Talks, Puppy Shenanigans In The Laundry Basket...which is the first book in the Jade Talks series of 10 books. This book is already published in paperback and ebook.
Fully Raw Dogs won't be taking a back seat to all of my entrepreneur endeavors forever—I promise! I've got lots of things planned for Fully Raw Dogs! I wish I could be 3 or 4 people sometimes! It just takes so so much time to do all that I want to do in my life. I've had these dreams and goals for most of my life. And I know that come hell or high water I will see them all through.
I have just started training for a new job to help supplement my income from VoiceOver. It's a work from home commission based job that I think is going to be a really great opportunity for me! It's going to allow me to put more back into my VoiceOver business, my book publishing business and also into Fully Raw Dogs. I won't lie, I'm definitely spread paper thin right now, and we are all feeling a slight level of neglect a bit lately, but I'm doing my best to keep it all together and running smoothly! I'm beyond exhausted and tired. But I've just got to keep going and keep working toward my dreams.
Look for more from us in the coming months. As soon as I can I will write again with more updates on the progress of Fully Raw Dogs and what I have in store for us as a business.
Thanks so much for all of the support and encouragement, it means the world to me!!
Till next time,
Susan
